About Spectrum K12’s Special Education Advocate Extraordinaire Award
The Special Education Advocate Extraordinaire Award program was created in 2007 as a way for Spectrum K12 to recognize the efforts of non-traditional advocates of families and students involved in special education. Award winners demonstrate an extra measure of commitment as teachers, researchers, community members, parents, public officials, administrators or friends of education who advocate in securing education for every child. Ideally the winner has made a meaningful impact on the awareness and importance of special education through a commitment of time, personal involvement, and passion.
