Pittsburgh Public School District Chooses Spectrum K12 School Solutions

Solution Will Provide Better Compliancy, Improved Data Integrity and Management

TOWSON, MD– April 14, 2008 – Pittsburgh Public Schools has adopted Spectrum K12 School Solutions Inc.’s special education IEP software product Encore®.  Encore will create a powerful and effective system of administrative reporting and tracking for students who need special services throughout the district.

Pittsburgh Public Schools had been primarily paper-based and entering special education IEP and reporting data by hand. Spectrum K12’s Encore software will provide them with a solution that ensures better compliancy, improved data integrity and management as well as a real-time system that will streamline and manage the entire workflow process.

Encore helps school systems dramatically improve special education management by eliminating mistakes in IEP compliance, saving training time, eliminating duplicate data entry, providing ease of access to centralized information and – ultimately – saving of hundreds of dollars per student.

The electronic system will help the Pittsburgh Public Schools streamline operations, provide accountability, allow staff to access data whenever and wherever, and ensure the District is in compliance with federal and state mandates.

“The purchase of the Encore software helps us meet our Excellence for All agenda goal of efficient and effective support operations,” stated Mary Jane Conley, Program Officer, Special Education. “Another major reason we chose Encore was because this solution provides us with a complete and accurate integration with our existing student information system.”

“We are excited that the Pittsburgh Public Schools has joined the expanding list of leading districts using Spectrum K12’s Encore special education and IEP software,” said Jim Marshall, President and CEO at Spectrum K12. “Pittsburgh Public Schools selection of Spectrum K12 after a comprehensive review of available solutions is a strong vote of confidence in our products, support services, and our team.”
