Natrona County School District Chooses Spectrum K12 School Solutions To Provide Web-Based System
ENCORE!® Software and Service Solution Addresses Needs of Diverse Schools In Large Geographic Area
TOWSON, Md. — August 19, 2005 — Natrona County School District (NCSD) in Casper, Wyo. has chosen Spectrum K12 School Solutions Inc. (4GL) to provide a comprehensive, Web-based solution for managing its programs for special populations. Natrona County School District will be the first Wyoming district to implement 4GL’s ENCORE!® suite of software and service solutions for special populations.
With nearly 35 schools spread out over 5,600 square miles, NCSD will implement 4GL’s ENCORE! suite to automate and streamline data collection and management across the district, and manage individualized education plans (IEPs) for more than 1,600 special education students.
“With the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004, we will see a lot of changes in the coming months in processes, rules, regulations and forms. And, we know that our needs will continue to become more sophisticated in the future. We feel that ENCORE! has the capabilities to meet our needs today and down the road, which is very important to us,” said Dr. Tammie J. Bertelson, special education coordinator for NCSD.
"Our previous system was primarily paper and pencil. We had some people using computerized systems but they weren’t consistent, so things were done in a variety of ways. 4GL Schools’ ENCORE! offering will help us create consistency across the district, and help ensure that we are compliant and are meeting students’ needs," she said.
