Increased Sales Due to Expansion of Products and Services Solidifies 4GL’s Leadership Position in the K-12 Special Populations Management Market
TOWSON, Md. — Oct. 25, 2005 — For the recently completed fiscal year, 4GL School Solutions Inc. (4GL), the largest privately-held provider of comprehensive management solutions for special populations in K-12 education, has realized 40 percent year over year growth and more than doubled the number of students served nationwide.
In FY 2005, 4GL launched a number of innovative solutions including ENCORE!™ OnLine, the ASP delivered offering of their flagship ENCORE! product suite. The 2005 results come as no surprise after what was, by all indications, a banner year for the company known throughout the industry as the leader in helping school districts increase the effectiveness of their programs for all special populations by automating time-consuming data collection and reporting processes, and reducing the paperwork burden.
“The response to our new offerings has been nothing less than outstanding," said Allison Duquette, president and CEO of 4GL. "With sales nearly doubling over the past year, specifically to small and medium-sized districts, 4GL today holds nearly 10 percent market share, touching almost one in ten of public school children in the United States.”
"In 2005, 4GL far surpassed $20 million in annual revenues and it was our most profitable year in the company’s history. Last year we spent nearly $4 million in on-going R&D investments in our products to bring to market solutions that schools need to effectively track and manage their programs for special populations, and to determine what is needed to take these students to the next level. Judging from market response, we’ve struck the right chord," said Matt Yancisin, CFO for 4GL School Solutions. "4GL is made up of former educators, IDEA specialists, researchers, and experts in the field of K-12 data management. We offer a powerful combination of insight and leadership that forward-thinking districts are seeking out."
Just last month, 4GL received the 2005 the EdNET HERO Award. Sponsored by education industry watchdog The Heller Reports, a QED company, the award recognizes organizations that have had the most significant impact on education through educational technology and telecommunications.
Earlier this year 4GL’s ENCORE! was named a finalist in the 2005 Codie Awards for “Best Business Administration System.” Established by the Software & Information Industry Association, the Codie Awards are among the most prestigious in the software industry, showcasing the finest software and digital content products and services across a wide variety of categories.
4GL School Solutions is also the first comprehensive management solution for special populations to receive the endorsement of the Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE), a division of the Council for Exceptional Children.
