Solution Will Provides Better Compliancy, Improved Data Integrity and Management
TOWSON, MD– February 28, 2007 – Seeking to create a more powerful and effective system of administrative reporting and tracking for students who need special services, Folsom Cordova Unified School District in California has adopted the use of Spectrum K12 School Solutions Inc.’s special education IEP management software product ENCORE!® California. Folsom Cordova had been primarily paper-based and entering special education IEP and reporting data by hand. Spectrum K12’s ENCORE! software will provide Folsom Cordova with a solution that provides better compliancy, improved data integrity and management as well as a real-time system that will streamline and manage the entire workflow process. ENCORE! helps school systems dramatically improve special education management by eliminating mistakes in IEP compliance, saving training time, eliminating duplicate data entry, providing ease of access to centralized information and – ultimately – saving of hundreds of dollars per student.
Maureen Burness, Folsom Cordova’s assistant superintendent of student support services, said, “We wanted a system that would streamline our operations and give us the ability to much more accurately capture and report special education data. ENCORE! is a very robust system that is easy to implement and teacher friendly. That was important to us because we wanted it up and running by the 07-08 school year.”
Dr. Kelly J. Calhoun, Folsom Cordova’s director of Educational Technology & Information Systems, said, “In order to best serve our students with special needs, we need all that data and information we’ve gathered in the hands of the right people, when they need it, and where they need it. ENCORE! is designed to help us accomplish that goal. It’s designed to be sophisticated enough to keep track of the myriad of compliance requirements, but simple to use for our staff. Complete, seamless integration between ENCORE! and our student information system was another major reason we selected Spectrum K12. Eliminating redundant data entry will immediately reduce the time to complete IEPs, giving our teachers more time to focus on improving student achievement.”
“We are excited that Folsom Cordova has joined the expanding community of California districts using Spectrum K12’s ENCORE! special education and IEP management software,” said Jim Hermens, vice president of product management at Spectrum K12. “Folsom Cordova’s selection of Spectrum K12 after a comprehensive review of available solutions is a strong vote of confidence in our products, support services, and our team.”
