Six Winning Schools presented with Spectrum K12 Award at Gala October 4, 2007

TOWSON, MD. – October 10, 2007 – Spectrum K12 School Solutions Inc, the leading provider of comprehensive data management solutions for special populations in K-12 education today announced their sponsorship award package for the six winning schools of the 2007 Intel® Schools of Distinction Award. Spectrum K12 joined the Intel Foundation and other sponsors as they honored each school’s extraordinary commitment to educational excellence and innovation.

Spectrum K12 presented their Schools of Distinction Sponsorship Award Package to the recipient schools at the Intel awards gala on October 4, 2007 in Washington, D.C. The Spectrum K12 Award package included: 


  1. The Spectrum K12 Needs Analysis on the effectiveness of each school’s Response to Intervention strategies. 

This analysis identifies the effectiveness of interventions used with at-risk students and reviews the data collection system(s) used to monitor progress on those interventions. Spectrum K12’s educational software captures, monitors and analyzes the required data and information necessary for Response to Interventions.


  1. Spectrum K12 customized Response to Intervention: from Theory to Practice Professional Development Training.

The RtI training is an opportunity for an entire staff to learn how to use a systematic approach to transform evidenced based research into practical intervention strategies for at-risk students. The training additionally focuses on how an effective RtI program can benefit at-risk students and result in increased student achievement results.

The winning schools for Mathematics Excellence are Balboa Elementary, San Diego, Sewell Middle School, Bremen, Ga., and Bergen Academies-Hackensack, Hackensack, N.J. The winning schools for Science excellence are Escalante Elementary School, Salt Lake City, Conyers Middle School, Conyers, GA. and Greenhills School, Ann Arbor.
