Spectrum K12 School Solutions Strengthens Technology Team

TOWSON, MD– November 12, 2007 – Spectrum K12 School Solutions Inc. today announced that it has named Ram Venkataraman Director of Architecture, Office of the CTO. Venkataraman brings more than 17 years experience as a proven technology architect and innovator. Mr. Venkataraman will be responsible for the overall technology architecture of all Spectrum K12 products.

Most recently, Venkataraman was Director of Product Management at Red Hat and managed the JBoss Enterprise Middleware stack; he was instrumental in helping transform JBoss’s open source projects into enterprise grade platforms. He also drove the creation of the Red Hat Developer’s Program and tooling strategy.

Before that, Venkataraman was CTO of ClearNova, a maker of rapid development tools for Java developers. ClearNova’s ThinkCAP JX product was the first open-source AJAX-based J2EE RAD tool in the marketplace. While at ClearNova, Venkataraman also architected and drove a major solution for Carlson Wagonlit Government Travel to handle travel reservations & billing for the federal government. In his spare time, he co-authored AJAX in Practice.
